ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Currently, there are still some difficulties in recruiting skilled workforce (specialized, semi specialized, technical and professional). This problem is accentuating; the current economic crisis and globalization are forcing companies to target niche markets or small volumes and also the risk of possible relocation of a few large companies. Companies in the agro-food sector offer potential development especially in organic production.
To do this, KELLAFRIQUE counts several issues in terms of economic development:
- Diversify the local economy to increase the standard of living of the population by offering more skilled jobs
- Modernize equipment of processing units and improve productivity.
- Develop an offer of value-added goods and services
- Invest in research and development
- Valuing traditional trades with young people
- Agriculture:
– Create family farms and facilitate succession
– Diversify agricultural and agro-food production (particularly in the organic farming, niche products and bioenergy sectors)
– Support the marketing of products
– Support and encourage the agro-food processing industry
– Enhance forest potential
– Revitalize the agro-forestry sector and trades
- Maintain and increase the presence of businesses and services on the territory
- Improve access to a skilled workforce mainly from "KELLAFRIQUE TOMORROW"
- Promote entrepreneurship as a means of economic development and diversification.
- Ensure synergy between different sectors
- Provide advanced training in manufacturing, production and marketing processes both technically and at the forefront of management.
